Google ends support for the first two Nest thermostats
Google · · Killed, Feature degradation
From 25 October 2025 the first- and second-generation Nest Learning Thermostats stopped connecting to the Google Home and Nest apps. Pre-set schedules kept working, and Google offered a discount on the fourth-generation model.
Why it counts
Thermostats sold in 2011 and 2012 lost app control after more than a decade of use.
